PAC CODES
A PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) is a unique code used in telecommunications to transfer your mobile phone number from one network provider to another.
Here's what you need to know about PAC codes:
What is a PAC code?
A PAC code is a nine-character identifier, typically consisting of three letters followed by six numbers.
It allows you to keep your existing phone number when switching to a new mobile network provider.
How to get a PAC code:
Text 'PAC' to 65075 from the number you want to keep (this is free and works for all UK networks).
You'll receive your PAC code via text within 60 seconds.
Alternatively, you can request a PAC code through your online account or by calling your current provider.
How to use a PAC code?
Choose a new mobile plan with your desired provider.
Activate your new SIM card.
Provide the PAC code to your new network provider, usually through an online form.
Wait for confirmation (typically within one working day if submitted before 5 PM on a weekday).
Important points to remember:
PAC codes are valid for 30 days.
When you receive your PAC code, you'll also get information about any early termination charges or outstanding payments.
The transfer process usually takes one working day once the new provider has your PAC code.
By using a PAC code, you can seamlessly switch mobile networks while keeping your familiar phone number, making the transition convenient and hassle-free.
