IMEI NUMBERS

IMEI numbers are unique identifiers assigned to every mobile phone.

They serve as a kind of "fingerprint" for your device, allowing it to be distinguished from others.

Here's what IMEIs are used for in simple terms:

Identifying Devices: IMEIs help identify specific mobile devices, similar to how a car has a unique license plate.

Security and Theft Prevention: If your phone is stolen, you can report its IMEI to your network provider. They can then block the device from accessing their network, making it difficult for thieves to use or resell it, even if they change the SIM card.

Tracking: Law enforcement can use IMEIs to locate a device if necessary.

IMEIs are usually 15 digits long and can be found by dialling *#06# on your phone or checking the packaging or battery compartment
