HUNT GROUPS
A Hunt group is a feature that distributes incoming calls from a single phone number to a group of predefined extensions or phone lines.
This ensures calls are answered efficiently by the first available person in the group.
Here’s how it works in simple terms:
How calls are routed: When someone calls the hunt group number, the system uses specific rules to decide which phone in the group should ring. These rules can include:
Simultaneous Ringing: All phones in the group ring at the same time.
Sequential Ringing: Phones ring one by one in a set order until someone answers.
Longest Idle: The call goes to the phone that has been idle the longest.
Circular Ringing: Calls are distributed evenly by rotating through the group.
Fallback Options: If no one answers, the call can be sent to voicemail or another backup destination.
Hunt groups are commonly used in businesses to manage high call volumes, ensuring no calls are missed and improving customer service.
